Wood & Pellet Stove Replacement
The Colville Tribes Air Quality Program offers stove replacement to help reduce smoke and improve air quality across the Okanogan River Airshed.
Older, uncertified wood and pellet stoves produce significantly more smoke and fine particulate pollution (PM2.5). Newer EPA-certified stove burn more efficiently, producing fewer emissions while providing better heating performance.
Replacing outdated stoves helps improve air quality and protects community health, especially during winter inversions when smoke can become trapped in valley areas for extended periods.
This program provides eligible households with a cleaner, more efficient heating option at no cost to participants.
In order to qualify for the PROGRAM, you must:
Live in the Okanogan River Airshed Replacement Area
Own your home
Have a non-EPA certified freestanding pellet/wood stove (no fireplace inserts; 2020 standard)
The pellet/wood stove must be your primary source of home heating
Be willing to allow Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation Office of Environmental Trust Air Quality Program (CTCR ET AQP) staff to come to your home and photograph your existing stove
Be willing to allow our contractor to replace your existing pellet/wood stove, along with all associated parts, as necessary
